I’m particularly excited about this year’s DrumBeat Festival because I will be doing something new by featuring a totally Virtual DrumBeat Fest! This year the Fest will be brought to you over the Web so you can watch it in the comfort of your own home, regardless of where you are in the world! And, in addition to some well-known drummers, this year’s Fest will feature a number of drummers you may not have heard about… yet. But you soon will! Including a super-talented 10 year old – Wait! I owe this super-talented little drumhead an apology! I just found out at his last lesson that he is only 8 years old… Yikes! I think back on what I was doing when I was 8. I think it was playing with little green Army men! Anyway, wait until you catch this kid… just amazing!

DrumBeat Fest 2009 is again being held as a tribute to my dad, who lost his battle with Parkinson’s Disease, with all proceeds going to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. So please Purchase a Ticket to DrumBeat Fest 2009 and join us Online for a full day of great drum entertainment and exceptional education while you help to make dreaded Parkinson’s Disease, which affects over over 6 million people worldwide, a thing of the past!

Click Here to purchase your ticket to this year’s DrumBeat Festival as soon as they become available. And while you’re there, learn how you can become part of next year’s DrumBeat Festival and show the drumming world exactly what you’ve got!

Don’t miss my latest video reviews including a great new soon-to-be-available product that will be a boon to all double bass drummers – The Wild Bill Coady Clutch! Check it out in this issue!

What DrumHeads Are Saying…

Subject: little story
hi bill,

I am sure my attempts at the Gladstone technique aren’t perfect by a long shot, but I still have made progress in staying loose. This little story kind of reinforced it.

I recently was in Europe on tour with my band and we hadn’t been there in 5 years. I have been trying to change my style to play loose for a little less than a year, hard to teach an old dog new tricks. A friend who had seen us in previous visits mentioned that my style had radically changed, I no longer looked like I was “chasing after someone” (his words). That my style was “refined” now. I assume people who see me play all the time haven’t noticed due to slow progress, but apparently it is working! The only thing I noticed was my hands no longer hurt, ever.

kudos, el Tigre
brian
